D.I.Y Naturally Tinted Homemade Body Cream
This post is mainly to show you how I usually give my homemade lotions a nice color without using any harsh chemicals. This will not give you a neon color, but just a light tint to give your cream a better look . This is especially great for gift giving. What I usually use as basic ingredients for my homemade chemical free body cream is:
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp organic coconut oil
- 1/4 tbsp virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tbsp organic almond oil
- 2 blackberries for a light tint
Place all the ingredients in a pot over low heat, just so that everything has melted together. Then I crushed up the blackberries and mixed them in. Next I poured the liquids into the container using a strainer to get rid of any big pieces, but continuing to mash up the blackberries until as much of their color has been used. Mix the ingredients up and place them in the fridge until completely solid. Next take out the ingredients and if you placed them in a glass container you will notice all the blackberry pieces sunk to the bottom so warm up the sides and try and get the chunk of cream to fall out. Wipe of the excess blackberries. You can either melt the mixture again for a smooth look, but I usually just crush it up. Below are pictures of what the sunken berries look like.
If you try this out make sure to test it on a little bit of skin to make sure it does not irritate you. Also if you do try it let me know what you think. My friends love these, so I will always give them out as gifts.
